The wife of John Y. Cooper died at her home in Galesburg on Monday, October 16th, aged nearly seventy-two years. She was married to Mr. Cooper in 1866, at which time she assumed the grave responsibility of stepmother of nine children. But she proved worthy of the trust ­ was to them all that an own mother could by, reared them to honorable manhood and womanhood, and all are still living to mourn the loss of “Mother.”
