DIED
Champlin, Fannie

Champlin - In Prairie City, Iowa, Aug. 30, 1876, Mrs. Fannie, wife of Duane Champlin, in the 30th year of her age.

Mrs. Champlin was a native of Canada and came to this place in 1866 to keep house for her brothers, Thos. and Edward Code. She was married to Duane Champlin and passed the whole of her married life in this place. She leaves behind a husband and an infant son to miss her loving companionship and motherly care.

While in the bloom of life, she was called suddenly away,
The devoted young wife, the mother of little Jay.

What a pleasant happy household, father, wife, and babe,
But now how sad and lonely, by a death is made.

We sympathize in sorrow-not knowing what’s the best,
But hope that loving wife and mother is among the blest.

May she with an angel’s care, guide that baby boy,
The pet of their household, mamma’s and papa’s joy.
