Buried at Her Old HomeChadwick, Mrs. Thomas
Last Saturday morning’s flyer brought to Newton Thomas Chadwick, a former citizen of Newton, his two sons and a daughter, bringing with them the remains of wife and mother, to be buried in the cemetery at Monroe.
Mrs. Chadwick had died the day before at their home in Chicago, having been an invalid for many years, and almost helpless for months. The Chadwicks lived here some twenty odd years ago, where he at one time was engaged in the mercantile business, and Mrs. C. in the millinery, both were prominent in social and religious circles being active members of the M. E. Church and highly respected by everybody. Mrs. C. was an invalid at that time. They went to Monroe from Newton, afterward to Des Moines, and for several years have been living in Chicago, where Mr. Chadwick is interested in the business of the celebrated American Steel Wire Company.
