Funeral Services of Marion Carr Held Fri.
Had Been In Ill Health For Past Few MonthsCarr, Marion
Funeral services for Marion Carr of this city were held Friday afternoon from the Christian church with the Rev. J. W. Teanzeler officiating.
Mr. Carr had been in poor health for several months and during the past few weeks his condition became more serious and he passed away at the Carr home on Locust street Wednesday afternoon June 7.
He spent most of his life in Sherman township until about fifteen years ago when he, with his brother, Monroe and sister Viola, moved to Colfax where they have since made their home.
Marion Carr, son of Samuel and Sarah (Bavard) Carr was born in Guernsey Co., Ohio, on March 9, 1859, and passed away at his home in Colfax June 7th, 1933, being 74 years 2 months and 28 days of age.
At the age of 11 years, with his parents, he came to Jasper county settling in Sherman township, and here Mr. Carr grew to manhood and spent most of his mature life.
He is survived by his brother, Monroe, two sisters, Viola of Colfax and Mrs. Mary Jane Christensen of Denver, Colo., and two nieces, Mrs. Viola Bidleman of Coffeeville, Kans., and Mrs. Edith Valentine of Benchland, Mont.
Burial was had at the Sugar Grove cemetery.
