Campbell, RuthGrinnell--Ruth Campbell, 92, of the Mayflower Home in Grinnell, a longtime resident and piano instructor in Newton, died Tuesday, July 17, at the Health Care Center at the Home.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, at the Grinnell First Presbyterian Church. Cremation has been held. Burial will be Tuesday afternoon in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial contributions to the Grinnell First Presbyterian Church or the Mayflower Home will be accepted.
Miss Campbell, who is survived by nieces and nephews, is the last surviving member of a family of nine children.
The daughter of Culver Woodburn and Margaret Elizabeth Skiles Campbell, she was born May 16, 1892 in Newton.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Grinnell and Chapter JB-PEO of Grinnell.
She moved from Newton to the Mayflower Home in Grinnell in 1975.

The Rev. Daniel Ogata, pastor of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be Tuesday afternoon at the Newton Union Cemetery.
Memorials to the Mayflower Home will be accepted.
She died Tuesday, July 17, at the Health Care Center at the Mayflower Home in Grinnell.
She was preceded in death by her eight brothers and sisters, Foster, George, Wilson Lee, Clair, Frank, Lucie Iowa, Grace and Maude Campbell.
Miss Campbell, a member of the Presbyterian Church in Newton for 60 years and church organist for 26 years, and continued her music at the Denison Chapel at the Mayflower Home since going to make her home there in 1963.
She was a 1910 graduate of Newton Community High School, received her bachelor of arts degree in music in 1916 from Grinnell College, had taken advanced work in pipe organ at Columbia University in New York City, had attended the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, Minn., in 1926 and had done advanced work in piano at Drake University in Des Moines.
She taught for three years in Nebraska and Oklahoma before returning to Newton where she taught piano and organ at the Beard Music Studio until 1953 and in her home until 1962.
