Mrs. Adolph Klopping
Many relatives and friends accompanied the body of Mrs. Adolph Klopping to the German Reform Church north of Newton, after a brief service at the home on Sunday, April 30, where the funeral services was concluded and the body laid to rest in the cemetery nearby.
The death of Mrs. Klopping brings a deep sorrow into the home and leaves the father and four children to mourn the loss of a good mother.
Mrs. Klopping had been sick ten months. The immediate cause of her death was dropsy. Several physicians had done all they could do for her and altho all in the family knew her case was very serious they kept hoping there would be a change for the better.
Mrs. Klopping’s maiden name was Margaret Louise Schnathorst. She was born forty-two years ago August 11th in Sheboygan county, Wisconsin. Her death occurred April 26, 1911, in Malaka township, Jasper county. When she was twenty-one years old Dec. 22, 1888, she married Adolph Klopping. To them were born five children. Frederick died July 21, 1900. The living ones who are at home with their father are Lillian, Willis, Stella and Harlan.
She was confirmed when she was fourteen and united with the Evangelical German church. She was always a Christian woman and loved to attend the church services. After her marriage she became a member of the Reform German church.
For two years following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Klopping lived in Newton. Then they went to the old Moyer farm north of Newton where they lived seventeen years. Four years ago they moved to her parental home north of the Albert Harrah farm and it was there she died.
Mrs. Klopping was a devoted mother and she was wrapped up in her home and family. Her untimely death will be mourned by all who knew her and the sympathy of all will go out to her husband and children.
Besides her immediate family she leaves two sisters and three brothers. They are:
Mrs. Henry Bohne six miles north of Newton, Mrs. Alfred Meyer of San Francisco; Henry, Carl and Rev. Fred Schnathorst.
The family wishes to thank all, who were king to them and their departed loved one and they would assure all that words cannot express the depth of their appreciation of the sympathy shown them and they would that all their friends should be shielded from sorrow like theirs. A. H. Klopping and children
