Hold Rites Saturday For Former Resident
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Blackledge, 75, former Jasper county resident, were held Saturday at Hamilton Funeral Home in Des Moines.
Burial was at Mt. Zion cemetery south of Newton.
Mrs. Blackledge died Wednesday at Des Moines where she had resided for 37 years.
Mrs. Blackledge is survived by six daughters; three sons; a sister, Nellie Zondervan of Kellogg; and a brother, Lee B. Hayes of Long Beach, Calif.
Born Myrtle Hayes May 14, 1884 near Reasnor, she was educated in Jasper county schools and later taught in Jasper county.
She was married to Virgil Blackledge in 1904, residing in Newton for several years before moving to Waterloo and later to Des Moines.
