Larry “Ozzie” Neil Allspach, 77, of Bevier, MO, formerly of Rhodes, IA, went home to our Heavenly Father on July 12, 2019

Larry was born September 12, 1941, in Marshalltown, IA, the son of Henry and Zeta (Stier) Allspach, Sr. When Larry was a teenager, he was baptized and confirmed at Bethany Church in Baxter IA. Later in life he was a follower of Shepherds Chapel as a non-denominational Christian. Larry was a graduate of Baxter High School. He followed his family’s tradition in farming, while living in Iowa, and then started his career as a heavy equipment operator. Larry was united in marriage to Julia “Judy” Ella Thompson on July 11, 1959, in Newton, IA. In January of 1972, they moved to Bevier, MO, where they raised their family. He furthered his career as an equipment operator and later began his own company, Allspach and Son Construction. He also raised cattle on his farm in Bevier. His passion in life was raising coyote hunting hounds and hunting coyotes with his many hunting buddies. He was well known for his line of Croghan Bred Hounds. Larry also loved riding horses, trail riding, planting his garden, listening to classic country music, and watching westerns and bull riding.

Larry is survived by his loving wife Julia; one son, Randy Allspach and wife Mary of Bevier; three daughters, Lisha Davis of Kidder, MO, Lonnie Graham and husband Chuck of Hallsville, MO, Lori Andell and husband Joe of Holt, MO; five grandchildren, Josh Allspach and wife Jessica of Macon, MO, Jessi White and husband Andrew of Columbia, MO, Ashley Sapp and husband Adam of House Springs, MO, Cameron Graham of Columbia, MO, and Lance Andell and wife Kayla of Holt, MO; nine great grandchildren, Jenna and Jake Allspach, Dexter and Archer White, Nolan Davis, Lucas and Kinley Sapp, and Kelleigh and Joseph Andell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Don, Ralph, Marvin, Howard Allspach, and Marjorie Vansice; son-in-law, Daryl Davis; grandson, Jason Davis.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at 1 pm, at St. John’s Cemetery in Newton, IA. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 4 to 6 with a Remembrance service staring at 6 pm at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home in Macon, MO. A celebration of Larry’s life will be Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Julia’s Home in Bevier, MO. Memorial donations will be used for the Celebration of Life, which can be made to the family. ~ The Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home, Macon, MO 12 Julyh 2019.
