Luke Griffin Ethridge, 26, of Baxter, Iowa passed away peacefully at Accura Healthcare of Newton West in Newton, Iowa on Wednesday, July 17, 2019. A visitation will be held at Fredregill Funeral & Cremation Care (107 North Main St., Baxter) on Sunday, July 21, 2019 from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, July 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Restland Cemetery in Baxter, Iowa.

Luke was born in Newton, Iowa on May 31, 1993 to Arthur Griffin III and Lisa (Carter) Ethridge. When Luke was almost 1 the family relocated to Baxter where Luke grew up. He attended Baxter High School where he played football. He graduated with the class of 2011 and not long after school was diagnosed with Juvenile Huntington's Disease or "HD". HD is a progressive disorder that causes the breakdown of brain cells in certain areas of the brain. This results in uncontrolled movements, loss of intellectual abilities, and emotional disturbances. Even with this horrible disease Luke carried on with a smile and a zest for life. Luke was loved by everyone who met him and truly touched many lives in 26 short years. He loved all animals but most especially his dog Isabella or "Little Sh*t", riding bikes, 4 wheelers, sunglasses, shoes, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Denver Broncos, his favorite NASCAR driver Joey Lagono, food, and all the pretty ladies.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are his mom Lisa Ethridge of Baxter, IA; step-dad Rick Johnson of Baxter, IA; brothers Ace (Veronica Stevens) Ethridge of Urbandale, IA and Travis Ethridge of Durango, CO; step-siblings Mindy (Marty Parks) Johnson of Baxter, IA and Michael Johnson of Baxter, IA; niece Payton Bradley; nephews Kaleb Bradley, and Kyler Johnson; many aunts and uncles; and many close friends.
