Edward H. Klemme Dies Wednesday; Rites Saturday
Baxter – Edward Herman Klemme, 77, a lifelong resident of the Baxter community, died Wednesday afternoon at the Nelson Manor in Newton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bethany Evangelical and Reformed Church at Baxter.
The Rev. Glen E. Coleman, minister of the church, will conduct the services. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Boyd-Nickell Funeral Home at Baxter is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Klemme is survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and five brothers, one of who died Mar. 7 and another April 7.
Mr. Klemme was a member of the Bethany Evangelical and Reformed church, having been baptized March 22, 1885 and confirmed March 31, 1899.
The son of Simon and Welhelmina Klemme, he was born Jan. 13, 1885 near Baxter.
Educated in rural schools, he farmed and managed a farm near Baxter until he suffered a stroke in November 1961.
