A. H. Klopping, 66, Dies Early Today
Death Comes Following Lingering Illness; No funeral Arrangements
Adolph H. Klopping, 66, lifelong resident of Jasper county, died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lillian Nelson. Mr. Klopping had been in failing health for several years, but was bedfast for only the last two weeks. No funeral arrangements have been made, pending word from a sister, Mrs. Albert Chollett of Los Angeles, Calif.
Mr. Klopping was born in Jasper county in 1866 and had lived here until his death. For many years he was engaged in farming in the Wittemberg neighborhood, later purchasing and moving to a farm, adjoining Lincoln Place.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Margaret Schnathorst Klopping in 1911. For the last several years, he had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Nelson.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Mrs. Ed Signs of Mingo and Mrs. Lillian Nelson of Newton; two sons, Willis Klopping of Baxter and Harlan Klopping of Minneapolis, Minn.; four sisters, Mrs. Hannah Koppin and Miss Mary Klopping of Newton, Mrs. Chris Wehrman of Van Cleve and Mrs. Albert Chollett of Los Angeles, Calif., and two brothers, Henry Klopping and Fred Klopping of Newton.

A. H. Klopping Funeral Rites To Be Tomorrow
Funeral rites for Adolph H. Klopping, 66, who died here Wednesday, will be conducted Friday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock from the Lutheran church by Dr. W. H. Blancke, pastor. Interment will be in the cemetery adjoining the German Reformed church nine miles north of Newton.
Mr. Klopping, lifelong resident of the county, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lillian Nelson, Wednesday morning, following an extended illness.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ed Signs of Mingo and Mrs. Nelson of Newton; two sons, Willis Klopping of Baxter and Harlan Klopping of Minneapolis, Minn.; four sisters, Mrs. Hannah Koppin and Miss Mary Klopping of Newton, Mrs. Chris Wehrman of Van Cleve and Mrs. Albert Chollett of Los Angeles, Calif., and two brothers, Henry and Fred Klopping of Newton. All are present for the services, with the exception of Mrs. Chollett of Los Angeles.

Klopping Rites Conducted at Local Church
Funeral rites for Adolph H. Klopping, 66, were conducted Friday afternoon at 3:00 o’clock from the Lutheran church, with Dr. W. H. Blancke in charge. Interment was made in the German Reformed church cemetery, north of Newton.
Mrs. Katherine Peaker furnished the music for the services, singing three hymns, “Face to Face,” “Celestial City” and “Happy Days.” Miss Ruth Campbell played the accompaniment.
Those serving as pallbearers were Vernon and Victor Klopping, Harry Wehrman, Harry Awtry, Fred Schnathorst, and Joe Wehrman.
Mr. Klopping died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lillian Nelson. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ed Signs of Mingo and Mrs. Lillian Nelson of Newton; two sons, Willis Klopping of Baxter and Harlan Klopping of Minneapolis, Minn.; four sisters, two brothers and four grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Signs and a sister, Mrs. Albert Chollett of Los Angeles, Calif., were unable to attend the services.
