DEATH CLAIMS MRS. DAVID H. BRIGGS TURSDAY, NOV. 14th
Briggs, Mrs. David (Harriett)Funeral Services Held Saturday From Colfax Methodist Church.
Mrs. David H. Briggs, 69, died at her home north of Colfax Thursday, November 14th, following a stroke a few days previous.
Harriett Ann Rowley was born in England, May 31, 1876, daughter of Levi and Eliza Griffith Rowley. She came to the United States as a girl and most of her life was spent in Des Moines, moving to Colfax about three years ago.
Besides her husband, David H. Briggs, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor E. Adrain of Wichita, Kansas; a sister, Mrs. Jack Warrick of Colfax; a brother, Arthur Rowley of Des Moines; besides other relatives and friends.
She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church in Des Moines.
Funeral services were conducted from the Colfax Methodist Church Saturday afternoon with the Rev. Edward Pruit officiating assisted by Rev. Paul Potter of Colfax.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Earl Plummer, Mrs. George Rinkler, with Gomer Williams, soloist and Wm. Cubit, organist.
Pall bearers were George Williams, Robert Williams, Richard Williams, Ralph Williams, John Buckroyd and William Buckroyd.
Flower committee, Mrs. Wayne Stroup and Miss Ottilia Slatkoske.
Burial was in the Colfax Cemetery.
