Donald G Rozendaal
September 14, 1938 - April 7, 2019

Donald Gene Rozendaal was the second of six sons that were born to Albert & Cora (Van Gilst) Rozendaal. He was born at home in Lynnville, Iowa on September 14, 1938. Donald was a member of the first graduating class of Lynnville-Sully High School in Sully, Iowa in 1957. He was baptized and made profession of his faith at the First Reformed Church in Sully where he served as an Elder and Deacon. As a young man Donald worked at the Sully Locker for a couple of years. He then became an employee of the Sully Coop where he worked in the elevator and fertilizer department for 55 years.

On August 2, 1960, he and Evelyn Arlene Engbers were united in marriage at the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella, Iowa. They made their home in Sully and together they raised three children: Randol Jay, Vicki Lynn, and Michael Gene. After raising their children they were privileged to travel extensively to several countries. Don & Evelyn enjoyed going out to Lake Red Rock and also camping with friends. He continued to regularly visit his farm and enjoyed going away and doing things with family and friends. One of their highlights was taking their family on cruises for their 40th and 50th Anniversary and spending a couple weeks every winter in Florida for several years with friends.

Don was a man of few words, but he devoutly loved God and his family. After retiring in 2014 his health was declining and on Sunday, April 7, 2019, Don passed away rather unexpectedly at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella at the age of 80 years.
