Seevers The death angel entered the home of Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Davis on Saturday, March 15, 1913, at 9:15 a.m., and called their infant baby Mary Vivian, away from earth to heaven, aged one year and seven days. She suffered a great deal for the last three weeks with the whooping cough and cutting her teeth. The funeral services were held at their home on Sunday afternoon, March 16th.
Rev. S. Morris, of Indianola, conducted the services, basing his remarks on She is not dead but sleepeth. The following young girls were the pall-bearers: Clarosa Willey, Stella Pratt, Eva Richard, Norma Williams, Harriett Edwards and Eva Danks. Her remains were taken to Colfax cemetery and laid to rest. The following came from a distance: Mrs. E. A. Davis of Des Moines, sister-in-law; Mrs. Mary Ashman of Colfax, sister; Miss Florence Ashman, Mrs. John Webb, nieces, and Mr. and Mrs. John Morgan, cousins, all of Colfax. The wreaths of flowers were lovely and highly appreciated by the relatives.
