Winona Lee Burchett, 69, Monroe, a former Webster City resident, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000 at her home in Monroe. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Wallace Pence Funeral home in Newton. Burial will be in the Newton Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Winona Lee "Dutch" Hoyt, daughter of Bert and Jenny Halfhill Hoyt, was born Nov. 8, 1930 in Graham, MO. She graduated from Ravenwood High School in Missouri in 1948. She married Hubert Keith Burchett Sept. 5, 1953 at Mt. Ayr. She worked at the HyVee Store East in Newton, retiring in 1996. She had resided in Brooklyn, Webster City and Newton, prior to moving to Monroe.
Survivors are her husband, Keith Burchett, Monroe; two daughters, Vicky Hilpipre, Brooklyn and Patricia Grayson, Newton; 10 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister, Norma Thompson of Great Barrington, MA., four brothers, Gerald Hoyt, Lemars, MO., Dale Hoyt, Lincoln, NE., Galand Hoyt, Friendswood, TX., and Gary Kidney of Houston, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Lonnie Joe Burchett on Dec. 22, 1991 and Michael Keith Burchett July 8, 1989; two sisters, Gladys Cornell and Edith Kidney, three brothers, Harold, Dwight and Kenneth Hoyt.
