H. S. Baker Found Dead
Wife of Mingo Merchant Finds Husband Lying on Kitchen Floor Wednesday Morning
Complaining of not feeling well when he arose Wednesday morning, Sumner H. Baker, went out into the kitchen of his home in Mingo to start the kitchen fire. A few moments after, he was found by his wife, laying stretched out on the floor – dead.
Mr. Baker had not been in good health for several weeks, it was stated, and it is thot that heart trouble caused his death. No funeral arrangements had been made up to a late hour Wednesday.
Mr. Baker is well known over the county and was in the grocery business in Mingo until last fall, when he was burned out. He was a member of the Methodist church and a great church worker. His wife was formerly Miss Burtress Boyd of Colfax.
