Wulf Services Held Yesterday
Rites Were Conducted From Congregational Church in Baxter; Burial in Restland Cemetery
Funeral services for Fred Wulf of Baxter, who died at his home Thursday, Sept. 1, were held yesterday at the Congregational church in Baxter, conducted by the Rev. B. F. Myers, pastor, who took for a text Hebrews 11:16 “But now they desire a better country.”
The church choir sang “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere,” Going Down the Valley One by One” and “Some Day the Silver Cord Will Break.”
Burial was in the Restland cemetery at Baxter. All the children, the two sisters and many other relatives and friends were present at the funeral services.
Obituary
Fred Wulf was born in Germany May 24, 1849 and died at his home in Baxter, Sept. 1, at the age of 78 years, three months and seven days.
He was one of seven children, all of whom were born in Germany and came to this country with their parents and settled on the homestead three miles east of Baxter. Following the death of the parents this place became the possession of Mr. Wulf and he continued to reside there until about 20 years ago when he retired to his home in Baxter.
Six Children Born
Mr. Wulf was united in marriage to Agusta Seyforth of Jasper county and to this union six children were born of whom two have preceded him in death, George who died about six years ago and John who died in 1909 at the age of 26. Those surviving him are Mrs. Emma Barber of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Amelia Plagman of Riceville, Ia., Mrs. Nora Peppard of Estelline, Tex., and Mrs.. Rose Tiffany of Garwin, Ia.
He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Peter Broderson and Mrs. Andrew Broderson both of Re(asner), 12 grandchildren. Mrs. Wulf ___ January 4, 1893.
Lived Quiet Life
Mr. Wulf was baptized in the __tian faith according to the ___ church. He had lived rather ___ life, loved by his family and ___ed by his neighbors and friends __ __ferring to live in his own home ___ been alone much of the time, __ with his advanced age had ___ condition of much concern to his children, all of whom resided __ places. His children and ___tives, neighbors and friends __ look after him frequently ___ always appreciated their attention.
