Henry Watkins Dies Early Today
Newton Trucker Dies Following Long Illness; Lived Here 10 Years
Henry Watkins, 56, Newton trucker, died today at 5 a.m. at his home, 1013 East Tenth Street North, following a six-week illness of heart trouble.
Mr. Watkins had lived in Newton for 10 years, having moved here from Albia. He was born at Eddyville, Ia., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Josephus Watkins.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Lizzie Watkins; a son, William, at home; a daughter, Mrs. John White of Newton; two brothers, Fred Watkins of Newton and Loren Watkins of Albia and two sisters, Mrs. Grant Curtis of Russell and Mrs. S. E. Manuel of Ottumwa.

To Hold Watkins Services Tuesday
Funeral services for Henry Watkins, 56, Newton trucker, will be conducted from the Morgan funeral home Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. and Mrs. E. F. Ruff, pastors of the Full Gospel church. Interment will be in the Oakview cemetery at Albia.
Mr. Watkins died early Saturday, following a six-week illness of heart disease.

Conduct Rites in Newton for Henry Watkins
Funeral services for Henry Watkins, 56, were conducted from the Morgan funeral home Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. and Mrs. E. F. Ruff of the Full Gospel church.
Music included two quartet selections, “The old Rugged Cross” and “Going Down the Valley,” by Mr. and Mrs. Ben Simons, Mrs. T. E. McKeever and Carroll Baty, and a duet number, “The Last Mile of the Way,” by Mr. and Mrs. Simons. Mrs. Otto McNeese was the accompanist.
Following the local rites, the body was taken to Albia for burial in the Oakview cemetery.
