Galesburg Man Dies at 78 Years
John Stravers Sr., Retired Farmer, Dies Tuesday At Home of Son
GALESBURG – John Stravers sr., 78, retired farmer, died Tuesday at 3:30 a.m. at the home of a son, Marinus Stravers at Galesburg. His death followed a week’s illness of heart trouble and complications.
Funeral services will be conducted from the home Thursday at 12:30 p.m., followed by final rites at 1:00 p.m. at the Christian church in Galesburg.
Mr. Stravers, a native of the Netherlands, had been a resident of Jasper county for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his wife about 10 years ago.
Surviving are his three sons, John jr., and Marinus of Galesburg and Dick of Oskaloosa, and seven grandchildren.
