Former Kellogg Woman’s Husband Dies In California
KELLOGG – Joseph B. Stair, prominent Azusa, Calif., financier, died at his home there Thursday noon, July 29, following a paralytic stroke, suffered a week previously. He had been in failing health since an illness in April 1935.
Born in Juda, Wis., the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jere Stair, he was educated at Cornell College in Mount Vernon, and was employed in banks in Wisconsin and Iowa before going to California in 1913.
He was united in marriage to Edna Braley of Kellogg and to them was born one son, Jere.
At the time of his death, he was president of the First National bank of Azusa and the Azusa Valley Savings bank, and director of the Azusa Foothill Citrus company, the San Gabriel Valley Investment Corporation, the Glendale Cooperative Fumigating company, and the Foothill Supply company.
Surviving relatives include his widow, a son, his mother, a sister, a brother, and a granddaughter, all of Azusa.
