LYNNVILLE – Services for Perry M. Sparks were conducted from the Pentocostal church near Lynnville, Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 6. Evangelist Charles Plotts conducted the services.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Harvey Gause, Mrs. Will Allee, C. H. Potter, and A. T. Gifford singing “Safe in the Arms of Jesus” and “When We Walk up the Golden Stairs.” Miss Katie Nikkle accompanied. Eddie Manges sang a solo, accompanying himself on a guitar.
Burial was in the Woodland cemetery.
Perry M. Sparks was born in Lynnville Junction, Ia., on May 11, 1873 and died Jan. 4, at the age of 63 years, 7 months and 23 days.
On May 28, 1906, Mr. Sparks was married to Sylvia Risher. To this union was born one child, Beulah Sparks.
Besides his wife and daughter, two sisters, Mrs. Laura M. Hockett of Grinnell and Mrs. Sarah Monroe of Oskaloosa; two brothers, Will P. Sparks of Grinnell and Jasper Sparks of Montezuma, and a half-sister, Amanda White of Riceville.
Mr. Sparks was converted at Lynnville, Iowa Jan. 18, 1908.
