Mrs. Reynolds Dies at 52 Years
Life-Long Resident of Newton Dies Sunday After Short Illness
Mrs. Maude E. Reynolds, life-long resident of Newton died Sunday, Sept. 5, at 6:30 a.m., from a short illness.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Murdoch funeral home, Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser, pastor of the First Christian church. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mrs. Reynolds who was Maude E. Richards before her marriage, was preceded in death by her husband Rolland Reynolds, who died in June of this year.
Surviving relatives include two nephews, John Morgan of Des Moines and O. J. Mahaffey of Newton; a cousin, Mrs. John Bullington of Newton, and others.

Hold Reynolds Rites Wednesday
Funeral Services Conducted For Long-Time Resident Of Newton
Funeral services for Mrs. Maud E. Reynolds, 52, long-time resident of Newton, were conducted from the Murdoch funeral home Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser of the First Christian church.
Mrs. Fred Reeves furnished the music, singing “In the Garden” and “No Night There.” Mrs. R. L. Jackson presided at the organ.
Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery, with the following serving as pall bearers: Howard Gunsaulus, Burl Reynolds, Walter Reynolds, Virgil Reynolds, Glen Reynolds and Howard Reynolds.
Mrs. Reynolds died Sunday morning, Sept. 5, following a short illness.
She was born in Mahaska county, Ia., Sept. 29, 1884, the daughter of Joseph and Martha Richards, and was the last surviving member of a family of six children.
She was married to Rolland Reynolds of Newton, Oct. 7, 1905, the ceremony being performed in Des Moines. They lived in Newton most of their married life and it was here Mr. Reynold’s death occurred June 15, of this year.
They had no children of their own, but helped to raise Mr. Reynolds’ niece, Peggy who made her home with them for several years.
Surviving relatives include two nephews, John Morgan of Des Moines and O. J. Mahaffey of Newton, and a cousin, Mrs. John Bullington of Newton.
