PRAIRIE CITY -- Donna M. Holland, 68, of Prairie City died at her home Wednesday, Aug. 4.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Burial will follow at the Newton Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Prairie City. Family will be available to greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials will be accepted to American Cancer Society.

The daughter of Ira and Amanda (Stegall) Ray, she was born March 25, 1936, in Newton. Growing up, she attended Newton schools. On Dec. 1, 1954, she married John "Jack" Holland in Las Cruces, N. M. She was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church in Sully and enjoyed participating in the Jasper County Genealogical Society.

Survivors include her husband; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Patrick and Joan Holland of Colfax, Jon Holland and Phil Holland, both of Monroe; a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Jim Thomas of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one sister, Becky Kinart of Prairie City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Jean Ray, and one sister, DeMaris Marony. ~ Newton (IA) Daily News, Friday, August 6, 2004
