Hold Rites For Mrs. Plummer
75-Year-Old Jasper County Woman Dies at Home of Daughter in Waterloo
KELLOGG, Ia. – Funeral services for Mrs. Eleanor Plummer, who has made her home near Reasnor and in Killduff in recent years, were to be held from the Kellogg Methodist Episcopal church this morning with the Rev. R. T. White in charge.
Mrs. Plummer, 75, died at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Glen Fordyce, at Waterloo Friday night following a four-week illness. She suffered a stroke shortly before her death.
Born in Logan, O., Nov. 19, 1861, Eleanor Schaeffer was married to Dennis Edward Plummer at Gallapin, Mo., Dec. 27, 1877. Her husband died several years ago. Mrs. Plummer has been a resident of Jasper county for 11 years.
Surviving relatives include three daughters, Mrs. Fordyce, Mrs. Floyd Percy of Reasnor and Mrs. C. E. Wells of Detroit, Mich., and two sons, L. O. Plummer of Chicago, Ill., and W. C. Plummer of Reasnor, and seven grandchildren. Following the funeral services here this morning the body was to be taken to Casey, Ia., for burial on the family lot. Mrs. Plummer was a member of the United Brethern church of Casey.
Mrs. Earl Trout was to sing “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Sometime We Will Understand,” with accompaniment by Mrs. R. T. White, at the local rites.
