Dr. Penquite Dies Tuesday
Massena Physician Was Born in Colfax; Funeral Thursday
COLFAX – Funeral services for Dr. H. H. Penquite of Massena, who died Tuesday morning after a two-day ailment with heart disease, will be held at the Colfax Methodist Episcopal church Thursday at 3 p.m. Services will be held in Massena Thursday at 10 a.m.
Burial will be made in the Colfax cemetery.
Dr. Penquite was born in Colfax and spent his early life here. He married Hazel Owens, also of Colfax.
His wife and son, Donald, and two sisters, Mrs. M. G. Stephenson of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. C. D. Mulcahey of Miami, Fla., survive.
He was also a cousin of Mrs. T. H. Gould of Newton and Mrs. Frank Stouffer of Colfax and a nephew of Mrs. Cloe Dawson of Colfax.
Dr. Penquite was 51 years of age.

COLFAX – Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, Nov. 18, at the Methodist church for Dr. Harry Penquite of Massena, Ia.
Dr. Harry Hazleton Penquite, son of Arthur A. and Mattie Cole Penquite, was born Aug. 25, 1886 at Mingo, Ia., and died Nov. 16, after a brief illness at his home in Massena, Ia.
Dr. Penquite grew to manhood in Colfax. He attended Colfax high school and later finished in medicine at Drake university in Des Moines, Ia.
He was married to Hazel Owens, Jan. 12, 1910 and the same year went to Massena to begin work as a practicing physician.
He was active in civic affairs. He was a member of the M. E. church and church board and served on the city council and school board. He was past master of the Masonic lodge, and was an active member and past president of Cass County Medical association. Dr. Penquite was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Consistory and Shrine.
Survivors beside his wife include one son, Donald Owens Penquite, and two sisters, Mrs. Ila Mulcahey of Orlando, Fla., and Mrs. Florence Stephenson of Los Angeles, Calif.
