LYNNVILLE – Funeral services for Mrs. Andrew Mitchell were conducted Friday afternoon, Jan. 9, from the home, with Rev. George Wood, pastor of Lynnville Friends church in charge of the services.
Mrs. Leo Davis sang “In the Garden” and “No Night There.”
Harrison Fleener, Morris Fleener, Arley Binegar, Glen Brignon, Rollo Brignon and Gordon Kepple served as pallbearers, with burial in the Friends cemetery near Lynnville.
Lucetta Davis, daughter of John R. and Eliza Jane (Lancaster) Davis was born in Lynnville, Ia., August 10, 1879 and died at her home near Searsboro, Iowa, Jan. 6, at the age of 57 years, 4 months, and 27 days. She moved with her parents to the farm home south of Searsboro in 1892.
On Oct. 3, 1895 she was married to Andrew Mitchell of Searsboro, Iowa. To this union was born three sons – Frank of Searsboro, Raymond of Lynnville and Roy F. who preceded her in death eight years ago on Jan. 6, 1929.
Survivors besides her husband and two sons are two grandsons, Raymond Roy and Edson Mitchell; seven brothers, Otis, Howard, and Kelly Davis of Searsboro, John S. Davis, of Montezuma, Edgar Davis of Lynnville; Charles Davis of Grinnell and Fred L. Davis of Des Moines. An aunt, Mrs. Sarah Stallings of Cherokee, Okla., also survives.
Attending from a distance were John Davis of Norfolk, Neb.; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Harvey and Mr. and Mrs. Given Johnson of Le Grande, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Buchnean, Mrs. Lizzie Cass, Miss Sadie Cass, Charles Davis, Mrs. Melissa Swan, Mrs. Jennie Brown, Grace and Frank, all of Grinnell; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Lovig of Gilman; Mr. and Mrs. John S. Davis of Montezuma, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Rivers of Montezuma and Ralph Evans of Sully.
