McKeever, William Cyrus – 1880-1937

MINGO – William Cyrus McKeever was born north of Mingo in Jasper County on June 14, 1880 and died Dec. 30 at the age of 56 years 6 months, 16 days. He was a resident of Jasper County all his life.
On Aug. 21, 1903, he was united to marriage to Sylvia Neal at Newton, Ia.
Mr. McKeever has been ill most of the past year and has been seriously ill the past four months.
He leaves his wife; five daughters, Mrs. Vilda Ballagh and Mrs. Hazel Perry of Prairie City, Mrs. Cleo Campbell of Waterloo, Mrs. Gladys Perin of Baxter and Margie McKeever of Mingo, and four grandchildren, Jackie Dean Ballagh, Shirley Campbell, Phyllis and Verle Perin. He also leaves one brother, Lee McKeever of Mingo and one sister, Mrs. Elsie Pond of Dubuque.
Funeral services were held at the Mingo Methodist Church, at 2 p.m. Jan. 2, following a brief service at the McKeever home. Rev. Byron Northrup of Baxter delivered the address assisted by the pastor of the church. The music was presented by a mixed quartet of Mingo friends. Interment was made at Greencastle cemetery.
