MALAKA – Rites for Walter Krampe, 65, Jasper county farmer, were conducted Monday, 1:30 p.m. from the Estel Funeral Home in Marshalltown by the Rev. J. G. Ruhl, pastor of the St. John’s Evangelical Church near Newton.
A trio, composed of Herman Liebale, Will and Herman Klaumberg sang, accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Ed Herzog.
Burial was in the Riverside Cemetery at Marshalltown with the following serving as pallbearers; Will Damman, Charles Tait, George Loupee, Clarence Hotger, Robert Poage, and Ralph Kreger. Miss Ruth Poage, Myrtle Loupee, Nadine and Lucille Kreager, were in charge of flowers.
Mr. Krampe died Friday morning following a two-month illness. He had just returned Tuesday morning from the Koch Hospital at Detroit, Mich., where he was a patient for five weeks.
His death occurred on the farm nine miles north of Newton, where he was born and spent his entire life with the exception of fifteen years spent in Marshalltown in the real estate and loan business.
He was united in marriage to Ruth York of Marshalltown on July 27, 1927.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Lydia Osten of Iowa City, Mrs. Howard Harris of Newton and Mrs. Minnie Ruehlman of Melbourne.
