Mrs. Kling, 82, Dies Late Friday
Funeral Services Will Be Held in Newton Monday; Interment at Kellogg
Mrs. Henry L. Kling, 82, resident of Jasper county for over 50 years, died unexpectedly Friday at 11:50 p.m. at her home, 119 East Eighth Street North. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Morgan funeral home, with Dr. W. H. Blancke, pastor emeritus of the First Evangelical Lutheran church in charge. Interment will be in Our Silent City cemetery in Kellogg.
As Carrie Groshelder, Mrs Kling was born in Bay Gasconade county, Mo., Nov. 3, 1855, and spent her girlhood there.
She was married to Henry L. Kling of St. Louis, Mo., a native of Germany, Oct. 17, 1883, and came to Jasper county as his bride.
Mr. and Mrs. Kling lived on a farm near Kellogg for a number of years, later moving to Kellogg and then to Newton about 16 years ago. They located at the present home on East Eighth Street North when they came here.
Mrs. Kling was preceded in death by her husband, who died unexpectedly from a heart attack Dec. 22, 1935, at the age of 83 years.
Mrs. Kling was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran church of Newton.
Surviving relatives include two sons, Louis of Kellogg and Fred W., of Newton; two daughters, Mrs. Laura Wilsterman and Mrs. Ida Wilsterman, both of Newton; 11 grandchildren, and three sisters.

Conduct Rites For Mrs. Kling
Funeral Rites Held in Newton; Interment in Kellogg Cemetery
Funeral services for Mrs. Henry L. Kling, 82, resident of Jasper county for half a century, were conducted from the Morgan funeral home Monday afternoon by Dr. W. H. Blancke, pastor emeritus of the First Evangelical Lutheran church, assisted by Rev. Fredrick D. Boldt, active pastor.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Roy Baty and John Hitchler, who sang “Saved by Grace,” “The City Foursquare,” and “Jesus Saviour Pilot Me.” Mrs. Otto McNeese was the accompanist.
Interment was in Our Silent City cemetery at Kellogg, with the following serving as pall bearers: G. W. McNair, William Andreas, Clifford Poots, Herman DeBondt, Emil Duckstein and C. B. Snyder.
The flowers were arranged by Mrs. J. A. Page, Mrs. F. L. McNair and Mrs. Grover McMahon.
