A.H. Jones, 60, Dies Early Today
Funeral services to Be Conducted in Newton Thursday Afternoon
Arthur H. Jones, 60, life-long resident of Jasper county, died today at 5:45 a.m. at his home, 303 West Fifth Street South. He had been in ill health for some time with heart trouble and had been bedfast since Oct. 9.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Morgan funeral home Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser, pastor of the First Christian church, assisted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz of the Methodist Protestant church. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mr. Jones, son of Mr. and Mrs. John P. Jones, was born in the Wittemberg neighborhood April 24, 1876, one of a family of four children. A sister, Mrs. Henry Henning, and a brother, Abraham, preceded him in death.
He was united in marriage to Alice Spohn May 22, 1900, and to this union eight children were born, seven of whom are living. One son died at six years of age.
Surviving relatives include his wife; seven children; Walter D. of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Juanita Grant of Peoria, Ill., and LeRoy A., John H., Mrs. Genevieve Clark, Frances Betty and Rex, all of Newton, and two grandchildren, Maurene Jones and Neil Clark, both of Newton.
The one daughter, Frances Betty Jones, is a surgical patient at the Skiff Memorial Hospital.

To Hold Jones Funeral Services Here Thursday
Funeral services for Arthur A. Jones, 69, life-long resident of Jasper county, will be conducted from Morgan funeral home Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser, assisted by the Rev. W. W. Steinmetz. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mr. Jones died Tuesday at his home, following a prolonged illness of heart trouble.
Surviving relatives include his wife; seven children, Walter D., of Seattle, Wash., Mrs. Juanita Grant of Peoria, Ill.; Leroy A., Howard, Mrs. Genevieve Clark, Frances Betty and Rex, all of Newton; a brother, Elmer Jones of Newton, and two grandchildren, Maurene Jones and Neil Clark of Newton.

Conduct Rites for A. A. Jones
Services Held Thursday Afternoon; Interment in Newton Union Cemetery
Funeral services for Arthur A. Jones, 60, were conducted from the Morgan Funeral Home Thursday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser of the First Christian Church, assisted by Rev. W. W. Steinmetz of the Methodist Protestant church.
Beaulah Mae Still furnished the music, singing “In the Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” Mrs. Dale Lyons was the accompanist.
Interment was in the Newton Union Cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers; Jay Lambert, John Morgan, Jack P. Santen, Frank Stockton, Carroll Morrow and Ralph Gardner. Mrs. Floyd Wheeler and Mrs. Daisy Wheeler were in charge of the flowers.
Mr. Jones died Tuesday morning at his home, following a lingering illness of heart trouble.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Mrs. Alice Spohn Jones; seven children; a brother, Elmer Jones of Newton, and two grandchildren.
