Infant Son of Newton Couple Dies Wednesday
David Carroll Hackney, three-day old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hackney, 212 West Eighth Street South, died Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. at the Skiff Memorial hospital. The baby was born prematurely at the hospital Feb. 8.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Keith LeRoy, 19 months old.
The mother was formerly Frances Tinnermeier.
Mr. Hackney is employed at the Iowa Southern Utilities company.

Conduct Services Today for Infant
Funeral services for David Carroll Hackney, three-day-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hackney, were conducted from the Murdoch funeral home today at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. John Ruhl of St. John’s Evangelical church. Interment was in St. John’s cemetery.
Mrs. Ruhl sang, “Jewels,” accompanied by Frances Stock.
The baby, born prematurely Monday at the Skiff hospital, died there Wednesday night.
Surviving are the parents and a brother, Keith Leroy, 19 months old.
