DEARINGER, RAMER, RADCLIFFE

MONROE -- Clifford O. Dearinger, 84, formerly of Monroe, died Thursday, July 8, at Lantern Park Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Coralville.

Graveside services were held today at Silent City Cemetery in Monroe. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe handled arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Iowa City Hospice.

The son of Curtis and Ella (Ramer) Dearinger, he was born Aug. 12, 1919, in Jasper County. He served in the U. S. Army during World War II. On Jan. 19, 1944, he married Margaret Radcliffe in Belfast, Ireland. He was a retired Maytag employee and a member the Masonic Lodge, the Monroe American Legion and V.F.W. He was a lifelong resident of Jasper County.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret of Monroe; a son, Brian Dearinger of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a daughter, Lorraine (Dearinger) Kent of North Liberty; six grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Martin. ~ Newton [IA] Daily News, Monday, July 12, 2004
