Mrs. Cosby, 43, Dies here Sunday
Funeral Services to be Held in Newton Tuesday at Christian Church
Mrs. Madge Marie Cosby, 43, native resident of Newton, died Sunday morning at her home on North Thirteenth Avenue West, following a lingering illness from a malignant disease. She had been bedfast for the last 21 weeks.
Funeral services will be conducted from the First Christian church Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. by the pastor, Rev. H. Leroy Kinser, and Rev. Daniel E. Buser of the Foursquare Gospel church. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Brother Here
Mrs. Cosby’s brother, Clifford Morrow of Omaha, Neb., who was called here two weeks ago by his sister’s illness, will remain for the funeral. Another brother, Claude Morrow of Aberdeen, S.D., is ill in a Yankton, S.D., hospital and will be unable to attend.
Mrs. Cosby was born in Newton Nov. 14, 1893, the daughter of Franklin P. and Flora E. (Stanley) Morrow.
She grew to womanhood in Newton and was married here to Carl C. Cosby 20 years ago.
Resided here
Mr. and Mrs. Cosby spent most of their married life in Newton, with the exception of short periods in Redfield, Ia., and Des Moines. Mr. Cosby is employed at a local factory.
Mrs. Cosby was preceded in death by her mother nine years ago, by her father one year ago, and by a sister, Mrs. Mae Spohn, and two infant sons.
Surviving relatives are her husband; five children, Mrs. Raymond Berner, of Newton, and Robert, Phyllis, Carroll and Dickie, all at home, five brothers, Claude Morrow of Aberdeen, S.D., Clifford Morrow of Omaha, and Harry, Roy and Carroll Morrow of Newton, and one sister, Mrs. Blanche Dennis of Newton.

Cosby Funeral Held in Newton
Services Conducted Tuesday Afternoon From Christian Church
Funeral services for Mrs. Madge Cosby, 43, were conducted from the First Christian church Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. Rev. H. Le Roy Kinser pastor of the church, and Rev. Daniel E. Buser of the Foursquare Gospel church were in charge.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Scott Schroyer, who sang, “Shall We Gather at the River” and “Lead Kindly Light.” She was accompanied by Mrs. H. L. Redeen.
Burial was in the Newton Union cemetery. Those serving as pall bearers were William Blair, Elda Gharret, G. Frank Wilson, Laurence Spohn, Ralph Gardner and Cedris Barker.
Mrs. Jesse Hammer and Mrs. Elda Gharrett were in charge of the flowers.
