Woman Succumbs to Long Illness at Home Near here; Rites Sunday
Mrs. A. L. Brain, 39, died at her home a mile east of Newton late Thursday morning, following an illness of seven months duration. Relatives today said that funeral services will be conducted from the home at 11 a.m. Sunday with burial at Mystic, Ia.
Mrs. Brain and her husband, a Maytag company employee, have made their home in this vicinity for 11 years. Mrs. Brain was employed at the Spurgeon store here for nine years.
Mrs. Brain was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Evan Birk at Allerton, Ia., and affiliated with a church there. She lived at Mystic for 12 years.
Her husband survives.
