Frank Altman Dies Saturday
Rites For Former Des Moines Resident to Be held in Newton Tuesday
Frank Altman, 54, former Des Moines resident, died at the University hospital in Iowa City Saturday, Jan. 23, following an illness of heart disease and complications. He had been a patient at the hospital for the last month.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Murdoch funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser of the First Christian church. Interment will be in the Newton Union Cemetery.
Mr. Altman was born at Des Moines Sept. 18, 1882, and died at the age of 54 years, 4 months and 5 days. He came to Newton last October to make his home with a son, Glenn Altman, at 1008 First Avenue West.
Surviving are three sons, Glenn, Gerald and Ivan, all of Newton.

Services Held here Tuesday; Interment in Newton Union Cemetery
Funeral services for Frank Altman, 54, who died Saturday in Iowa City, will be conducted from the Murdoch funeral home Tuesday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. H. LeRoy Kinser of the First Christian church.
Music was furnished by Mrs. Dale Lyons and Loris Hatch, who sang, “No Night There,” and “Just As I Am.” Lois Hundling played the accompaniment on the electric organ.
Interment was in the Newton Union cemetery, with the following serving as pallbearers: Richard Bestor, Harold Rojohn, Clifford Benson, Lawrence Hoskinson, Martin McGriff and Roy Wyatt.
Mr. Altman came to Newton last October to make his home with his son, Glenn Altman, 1008 First Avenue West. He had been a patient in the Iowa City hospital one month.
He is survived by three sons, Glen, Gerald and Ivan, all of Newton.
