Anton N. Alling Dies At 75 years
Funeral Services Conducted This Afternoon at Local Funeral Home
Funeral services for Anton Nelsen Alling, 75, R.F.D. 4, who died here Saturday, were conducted today at 2:00 p.m. from the Toland funeral home.
A Watch Tower funeral service was conducted by a member of the Jehovah Witnesses sect, from Des Moines. Interment was in Slagel cemetery.
Mr. Alling died Saturday afternoon about 3:00 o’clock, following an illness of over two year’s duration.
He was born in Rye, Denmark, June 17, 1862, and was the last surviving member of a family of three children.
He came to Jasper county from Centerville, Ia., in 1890, and was married here at the old Lambert hotel, May 8, 1895, to Anna Bertelsen. Mr. Alling had been a blacksmith and a farmer.
Mr. Alling was a member of the Lutheran church of Denmark and of The Daily News Three Quarter Century club. He was formerly affiliated with the I.O.O.F. lodge.
Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Arthur Alling of Shell Lake, Wis., and five daughters, Mrs. W. R. Scales of Hollis, N.Y., Mrs. O. S. Fridblom of Madison, Wis., Esther M. Alling of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. J. O. Thompson and Louise Alling of Newton.

Conduct Rites For A. N. Alling
Watch Tower Funeral Service in Charge of Des Moines Man
Funeral rites for Anton N. Alling 75, of near Newton, were conducted from the Toland funeral home Monday at 2:00 p.m.
A Watch Tower funeral service conducted by J. W. Filson of Des Moines, included a recording of an address by Judge Rutherford.
Burial was made in the Slagel cemetery, with the following serving as pall bearers: Stewart Guthrie, Theodore Olson, Charles Gharrett, William Benjamin, Irvine Skow and James Dodge.
Mr. Alling died Saturday at the Skiff Memorial hospital following an illness of over two years duration.
A native of Denmark, he had been a resident of Jasper county since 1890, when he came here from Centerville, Ia.
Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Arthur Alling of Shell Lake, Wis.; and five daughters, Mrs. W. R. Scales of Hollis, N.Y., Mrs. O. S. Fridblom of Madison, Wis., Esther M. Alling of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. J. O. Thompson and Louise Alling of Newton.
