Local Man Dies of Pneumonia
S. F. Reynolds, 49-Year-Old Factory Employee, Dies Unexpectedly Today
S. F. Reynolds, 49, Newton R.F.D. 2, died today at 10:30 a.m. at the Skiff Memorial hospital, following a three-day illness of pneumonia. This marks the third death in the immediate family in the last two years.
Mr. Reynolds had been suffering with a cold, but continued at his work until Thursday night. He became suddenly ill with pneumonia and was removed to the hospital Sunday.
Mr. Reynolds was born in Jasper County and had lived here all of his life with the exception of two years spent in Des Moines. He had been employed at the Maytag Company for approximately 18 years.
Mr. Reynolds was preceded in death by his wife March 19, 1935, and by an infant son, Richard Wayne, Aug. 3, 1936.
Surviving relatives include one son, Walter, of Newton, and five daughters, Mrs. Martha Gunsaulus, Mrs. Viola Lust, and Frances, Beulah and Lois, all of Newton.

To Hold Reynolds Rites Wednesday
Funeral services for S. F. Reynolds, 49, Newton R.F.D. 2, will be conducted from the Morgan funeral home Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. H. Leroy Kinser, pastor of the First Christian church. Interment will be in the Newton Union cemetery.
Mr. Reynolds died Monday at the Skiff Memorial Hospital following a three-day illness of pneumonia.
