Prunty - In Cherokee County, Aug. 15th 1876, Harriet, wife of Elias Prunty, aged about 60 years.

Deceased was one of the oldest settlers of this county, and was loved and respected by all her friends. Some time since, Mr. and Mrs. Prunty went to Cherokee to assist their son and daughter in establishing themselves in business, and there, far from the associations of her earthly live, she sickened and died. Her remains were brought home and she will be laid to rest in the cemetery at Vandalia, among those of her friends who have gone before. ~ Prairie City (IA) News 25 Aug 1876
