Word Received About Death of Former Resident
Members of St. John’s church received word of the death this morning of Mrs. A. H. Scheidemann at the home of a daughter in Los Angeles, Cal., where she has lived for the last several years.
She was the wife of Rev. A. H. Scheidemann who, from 1890 to 1898 was pastor of St. John’s church. He died while pastor of the church and is buried in St. John’s cemetery.
Since his death, Mrs. Scheidemann lived in Marshalltown with her family for many years before going to live in California. A son, Walter, lives in Gillespie, Ill.
Burial will be in the St. John’s cemetery with Rev. Emil Burrichter officiating, but definite funeral arrangements have not been made awaiting word from the family.

Lizzie Scheidemann was born in Missouri to Herman Rahn and his wife Anna Boese. She married Pastor August Scheidemann, and they had several children together: Antonia, Laura, Walter, Norma and Alma. She was widowed as a young mother and was left to raise her children alone. She was born December 23, 1861 and died March 15, 1949.
