Goldie Marie "Jean" Booth, 87 of Prairie City, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at Altoona Nursing and Rehab in Altoona.
Goldie was born August 25, 1930, in Panora, the daughter of James and Alice (James) Dupuy. She graduated from Cooper High School and was united in marriage to Lawrence Booth on July 5, 1952, in Des Moines. Goldie was a member of the Prairie City United Methodist Church and spent most of her life as a farmwife. She enjoyed sewing, canning, flowers and watching birds. She loved the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Goldie is survived by her daughters: Pam (Carl) Van Der Kamp of Prairie City, Patty (Jim) Tiernan of Granger and Becky Booth (fiancé Ron Diaz) of Prairie City; her grandchildren: Ryan (Ann) Van Der Kamp, Erik (Jody) Van Der Kamp, Bethany (Andy) Stanger and Adam Tiernan; four great-grandchildren: Haley, Katie, Abby and Ali Van Der Kamp; her brother, Marian Dupuy of Des Moines; and her sister-in-law, Doris Booth of Prairie City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers: Harry and Charles Dupuy; and three sisters: Edith Anderson, Elsie Meyers and Lois Stilwell.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, February 15, at the Prairie City United Methodist Church in Prairie City. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, February 16 also at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in loving memory of Goldie.
Rasmusson-Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
