Kathleen was born September 15, 1934 in Des Moines to Samuel Fredrick and Hazel Faye Kane. She grew up in Monroe and graduated from Monroe High School in 1952. She moved to Chariton 53 years ago and began her career as Secretary for the Superintendent of schools for Chariton District.
She enjoyed her work and co-workers at the school and retired after 30 years. Her co-workers will remember her being honest and hard-working. She liked sports and loved to watch basketball and racing. Michael Jordan was her absolute favorite player. Although she didn’t claim to be a dog lover, she fell in love with her dog Roxy.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her siblings: Doyle, Bill, Wayne, Martha, and Dean. She will be greatly missed by her children: Carrie Hanna and Craig Ratcliff; grandsons: Tim and Joe Ratcliff; great grandchild, Paityn Ratcliff; and many relatives and friends.

Kathleen A. Ratcliff passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Lucas County Health Center at the age of 83 years. Family will receive friends Saturday, June 23rd from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Chariton. No services are planned at this time. Memorials may be made to the Lucas County Humane Society.
