MONROE -- Donnie A. Cowman, 69 of Monroe, died Tuesday Sept. 14.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Koughn officiating. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Visitation will be held on Friday after 2 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe. The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Donnie A. Cowman Memorial Fund.

The son of Darald and Ruth Elizabeth (Penman) Cowman, he was born Sept. 24, 1934, in Percy. He graduated from Knoxville High School and served in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955. He was married to Virginia Main, and they later divorced. He was then married to Phyllis J. Parmer. He was a member of the Monroe United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Long Beach, Miss.; a daughter, Debra Cowman of Texas; three sons, Jeffrey and Eric Cowman, both of Texas, and Josh Cowman of Mississippi; several grandchildren; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gene and JoAnn Cowman of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary.
