SULLY -- Teri Jo Vander Beek, 20, of Sully died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, at Pella Regional Health Center in Pella.

Funeral services were held today at the First Reformed Church in Sully. Burial was at Sully Cemetery. Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Sully handled arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted to the Lynnville-Sully Athletic Department.

The daughter of Jerry and Pam (Van Der Zyl) Vander Beek, she was born July 23, 1984, in Grinnell. She was a lifelong resident of Sully and graduated from Lynnville-Sully High School in 2003. In high school, she was active in numerous activities, her first love being basketball. She was a member of First Reformed Church, where she participated in Faithwalkers and Faithwalkers Choir. She attended one semester at Simpson College in Indianola before transferring to Central College in Pella. She was a communications major and a member of Central Dutch basketball team. She enjoyed music, shopping and sports.

Survivors include her parents; a brother, Joel; grandparents, Clarence and Darlene Van Der Zyl of Sully and Joe and AnnaMae Vander Beek of Sully; two aunts and uncles; and two cousins.
