Edith (Lust) Munger, 103, of Newton died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at USA Healthcare -- Newton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Wallace Family Funeral Home in Newton with the Rev. Gary Marzolf, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Newton, officiating. Burial will be at Palo Alto Cemetery in rural Newton. Memorials will be accepted to the McCann Village Memorial Fund and may be left at the funeral home.

The daughter of Alfred and Martha (Earp) Lust, she was born March 5, 1901, in rural Reasnor. She graduated from country school and from Commercial College in Des Moines. On Aug. 9, 1925, she married Archie Ray Munger in Newton and was a homemaker. She worked for Parsons Company prior to her marriage.
Mrs. Munger was a lifelong resident of Jasper County. She lived in Reasnor, Newton and Monroe.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Ruth Munger of Monroe; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Bobby and James G. Munger; a brother; and two sisters.
