PLATTE CITY, Mo. --, 67, of Platte City, Mo., formerly of Jasper County, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 2004, at his home.

A memorial service was held today at the Platte City United Methodist Church. Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City, Mo., handled arrangements.
Memorials will be accepted to the church.

The son of Errisje (Kolfschoten) and Clifford Merlyn Mick, he was born Oct. 25, 1937, in Jasper County. On June 2, 1959, he married Phyllis L. Monsma in Sully. He received a bachelor of arts degree, a master's degree and a doctorate from Iowa State University. He taught at Iowa State University and the University of Iowa. He retired in 1999 from Pioneer Hi-Bred Int., where he worked as an agronomist.
Mr. Mick enjoyed woodworking, gardening, his lawn and flowers.

Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Todd D. and Katherine Mick of Platte City, Mo.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Krista L. and James Fulbright and Kayla L. and Craig Laderoute, all of Platte City, Mo.; six grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert E. Mick of Newton and Dennis W. Mick of Xenia, Ohio.

His parents and two infant daughters preceded him in death.
