COLFAX -- Margaret (Morris) Lockhart, 93, formerly of Colfax, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, at Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Colfax. Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax is handling arrangements.

There will be no visitation. Memorials will be accepted to the Margaret Lockhart Memorial Fund.

The daughter of Elmer and Lucile Morris, she was born in rural Warren County. She graduated from Indianola High School in 1928. She married H.P. Lockhart in Indianola, while they were employed by Northwestern Bell Telephone Company. They lived in Colfax for many years, and after her children were raised, she worked for Monroe Table Company. She enjoyed singing.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Larry Gannon of rural Colfax and Margo and Dave Edwards of Mitchellville; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Bea Gathright of Buena Park, Calif., and Shirley and Gene Rosendahl of Des Moines; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Versa Morris of New Virginia and Dick and Norma Morris of Dallas, Texas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and three sisters.
