PLEASANT HILL -- Jolene K. Cattell, 52 of Pleasant Hill, died from complications of pancreatic cancer on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at Taylor House in Des Moines.

Joint funeral services for Jolene and her daughter, Jennifer Thomas, who died Oct. 13, 2004, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Colfax United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Waveland Cemetery in Prairie City.

Visitation for Jolene will be held Tuesday after 2 p.m. at Walters-Coburn Funeral Home in Colfax. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Jolene K. Cattell Memorial Fund.

The daughter of Joe and Dorothea (Thomas) Prochaska, Jolene was born on Dec. 9, 1951, in Newton. She graduated from Prairie City High School in 1970 and also attended the Iowa School of Beauty. On Dec. 9, 1989, she married Denny Cattell. She worked for 32 years as a licensed cosmetologist and most recently at Principal Financial Group in Des Moines. She enjoyed traveling, the outdoors in the summer and her five cats.

Survivors include her husband, Denny; a daughter, Jennifer Cattell of Pleasant Hill; a step-daughter, Sherri McDonald of Ankeny; a step-son, Jason Cattell of Pleasant Hill; a granddaughter; a great-grandson; a sister, Avonell Prochaska of Walt Hill, Neb.; her mother, Dorothea Hackathorn and her husband Clifford of Prairie City; and many other family members and dear friends.

Her father and daughter Jennifer Thomas preceded her in death.
