SEARSBORO -- Gerald D. "Skinny" McLandsborough, 50, of Searsboro died Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon with the Rev. Don Job of the Searsboro Community Church officiating. Burial will follow at Union Mills Cemetery.

Visiting hours will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home and continue until service time. Memorials may be made to the family.

Gerald D. McLandsborough was born on April 5, 1954, in Oskaloosa to Thomas and Betty DeYoung McLandsborough. He graduated from North Mahaska High School in 1973 and attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa. He worked at Bloom Supply in Oskaloosa, with Kaiser Construction on the construction of Highway 92 between Oskaloosa and Knoxville and as a mechanic and driver for the Cargill Elevator in Grinnell. On May 26, 1989, he married Mary Diane Fry in Montezuma. He served as mayor of Searsboro for four years and also served on the Searsboro Fire Department. He enjoyed working on cars, raising rabbits, mowing his yard and visiting with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife; his mother of Montezuma; two daughters, Amber McLandsborough of Searsboro and Lily Triplett of Tama; two step-daughters, Candace Moore of Cedar Rapids and Mary Fry of New Sharon; two brothers, Leonard McLandsborough and wife LuAnn Buehneman of Keswick and Tim McLandsborough of St. Charles, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.
