Wade N. Luett, 27, of Newton and formerly of Grinnell, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell with the Rev. John Epperson, pastor of the Grinnell Christian Church, officiating.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Wade Luett Memorial Fund.

The son of Charles and Lori Vaughn Luett, he was born May 30, 1977, in Corydon. He later moved with his family to Grinnell in 1981 and was a 1998 graduate of Grinnell High School. He was formerly employed at Hy-Vee Food Store in Grinnell, and for the past several years he was employed and made his home at Progress Industries in Jasper County.

He enjoyed reading, listening to music and watching movies. He was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Denver Broncos and held an interest in battleships and planes of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his parents of Grinnell; his grandparents, Carroll and Arlene Vaughn of Kellogg and Elaine Luett of Davenport; several aunts and uncles; and several cousins.
