Margaret M. (Auten) Beveridge, 94, of Long Hill Road, Middletown, Conn., died Saturday, July 31, at Haven Health Care Center, Cromwell, Conn.

Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Middletown, Conn., on Wednesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Kwang-il Kim officiating. Burial will be at Swedish Cemetery in Portland, Conn.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Doolittle Funeral Home, 14 Old Church St., Middletown, Conn., and are invited to send a message of condolence to the family at the Web site of www.doolittlefuneralservice.com . In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 24 Old Church St., Middletown, Conn. 06457.

The daughter of Frank M. and Susan M. (Morris) Auten, she was born in Kellogg. She lived in Middletown, Conn., most of her life. She was a graduate of Oberlin College, class of 1932, with a degree in mathematics and had been employed at Bunce's for 17 years.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Middletown, Conn., where she taught Sunday school for 20 years, was a member of the United Methodist Women, was active in the church fair making quilts, Raggedy Anne dolls, dried arrangements, and was known for her catnip filled mice. She was a Girl Scout leader, enjoyed cooking and raised prize winning Bantam chickens. She was a family caregiver for generations, and her life revolved around her family and church. She enjoyed dolls, crafts and gardening.

She is survived by one son, the Rev. Thomas F. Beveridge of Bloomfield, Conn.; one daughter, Lois Czachorowski of Walpole, Mass.; one brother, Bert Auten of Newton; and four grandchildren, Thomas A. Beveridge of Wilmington, N.C., and Adam, Paul and Margaret Czachorowski all of Walpole, Mass.
